Kraken 2024 regulatory and law enforcement data requests increase by 39%

According to Kraken's latest transparency report, its regulatory and law enforcement data requests increased by 39% in 2024, most of which came from U.S. agencies, including the FBI. A report released on February 19 pointed out that Kraken received 6,826 data requests from 71 countries in 2024, a significant increase from the previous year. The United States accounts for the largest share of requests, with 1,951 queries. In the United States, the FBI is the largest requesting agency, sending 614 data requests, accounting for 31% of the total 1,951 requests received by Kraken.
Although the SEC's requests account for only a small percentage of the total requests of the U.S. agency, the regulator's requests account for the largest share of U.S. regulatory requests, at 37%. Other U.S. regulators that require data include the national regulator, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
