On February 20, Ho Kai Xin, the former head of Bybit's salary payment who stole $4.2 million in public funds, refused to enforce a court order and spent nearly $840,000 to purchase freehold penthouses and Louis Vuitton luxury goods after the court's judgment. The 32-year-old woman was sentenced to six weeks in prison for contempt of court on January 27 for violating the High Court order. Previous news, in July 2023, crypto trading platform Bybit sued Ms. Ho, who was responsible for paying wages within the company, abused her power and transferred a large amount of USDT to an address she secretly owned and controlled. The Singapore High Court ordinary court upheld its ruling on July 25, saying that it was generally recognized that cryptocurrencies were property, and holders of crypto assets had in principle the intangible property rights recognized by common law as items in litigation and therefore could be enforced in court. The court ruled that Ms. Ho immediately paid Bybit all transferred money and interest.
