Golden Finance reported that Dogecoin recently suffered a vulnerability attack that seriously affected its node structure. The vulnerability is called "Dogereaper". It is reported that Sequentia developer Andreas Kohl only used an old laptop from El Salvador to make 69% of Dogecoin Node crashes. While the attack severely affected Dogecoin nodes, the situation could have been worse: ecash developer Tobias Ruck and another developer Roqqit have already disclosed the flaw. Tobias Ruck said he first discovered the vulnerability while developing Doged, a replacement for Dogecoin Core, and discovered an unfixed segmentation fault in the original code while testing ported code for their replacement software. Tobias Ruck explained: “We will not tolerate node crashes, we put a lot of effort into ensuring network security, this attack may be more serious, all important stakeholders, such as miners, exchanges, etc., long before the attack occurred "It shows how important it is for us to proceed with caution."
