The appointment of Arkansas Rep. French Hill, the new chairman of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee and a crypto supporter, has won the support of crypto industry leaders and lawmakers. Brian Brooks, the former acting Comptroller of the Currency and former chief legal officer of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, praised Hill's "intelligence, growth mindset and innovative outlook."
Ripple Chief Legal Officer Stuart Alderoty emphasized Hill’s potential to promote regulatory transparency on digital assets, saying: As Chairman of the Digital Assets Subcommittee, Congressman Hill is prepared to take the lead in promoting regulatory transparency and continue the momentum of the previous Congress on market structure and stablecoin legislation.
Those sentiments were echoed by others in the cryptocurrency and financial sectors, including the Blockchain Association and the Digital Chamber of Commerce, who have also come out in support of Hill’s leadership.
