According to Cryptonews, the Wyoming Highway Workers Union announced that it is exploring the inclusion of Bitcoin on its balance sheet. The Wyoming Highway Patrol Association (WHPA) has partnered with Proof of Workforce to launch an initiative called Get Off Zero. The initiative is expected to become the first law enforcement association in the United States to hold Bitcoin on its balance sheet. The “Start from Stop” campaign focuses on cryptocurrency investment, encouraging organizations to allocate a small portion of their portfolio to Bitcoin.
WHPA was founded in 1974 to provide support and resources to its patrol officers, dispatchers, entry port officials and civilian personnel. Through the Start from Scratch initiative, members of the organization can understand how the digital asset ecosystem works. Proof of Workforce is a nonprofit organization that provides free Bitcoin education for workers, unions, pension funds and municipalities. Proof of Workforce founder Dom Bei reported that this "may set a precedent for other law enforcement associations in the United States."
